October 13, 2008 I have it in my head that I will be attempting NaNoWriMo again this year, so, well, we'll see how that goes. I have an idea, and the format will be best suited to a blog, because essentially the story follows a group of bloggers. Everything will go here, if it goes anywhere at all. Oh, also, I am pregnant again. Due May 11. The things that happen in a year, my friends. December 29, 2007 Our baby girl is here. Abigail Anne was born Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 6:59 PM, weighing 9 lbs. 4 oz. and measuring 21 inches long. Pictures here. December 14, 2007 I've been inspired to attempt the 101 Things to do in 1001 Days Project. In other words, my goals, let me show you them. You can access my list by clicking on the link or via Miscellaneous in the menu. You know, only if you want to, of course. August 4, 2007 Wow. It has been exactly eight months since I last updated this page. Sadness. :( I know I've added content more recently than December. Hmm. Anyway, news: Scott and I are expecting a baby girl December 16, 2007! We are both very excited, though I tend more toward worried at times. I'm trying to keep the hysteria to a minimum. Hopefully all will go well. December 4, 2006 Oh, how the time flies. I don't know why I told Scott to write "truth, lies, etc." on the opening page for my site. I should get him to change that. I'm pretty sure there aren't any lies here, unless you count the fiction. Hee. Okay, a lie. Hrm. I like tomatoes. There you go. August 2, 2006
Please read this.May 13, 2006 I'm not quite ready to write a review of the thing yet, but for now - some very scattered thoughts on The Grey Album. Over the summer I'm hoping to fix up the site and add a few new pages. The music reviews right now aren't as, um, thorough, as I'd like them to be. When all is said and done I'd like to have Perp-style reviews up for the following albums: (1) Danger Mouse - The Grey Album (2) Sam Roberts - Chemical City (3) Live - Songs from Black Mountain Ideas for new pages: (1) Beatles tribute page (2) Music of the '60s & '70s page The thing is, I really want to make sure I can do these in a unique way, so that I'm not just sticking a bunch of pictures on a page along with some uninteresting text and calling it a day. In the meantime, if you want a really interesting site for Beatles fans, sugarplum fairy is the place to go. Very informative. HUGE picture gallery too, which could never be a bad thing. May 10, 2006 Added an NYC Pilgrimage 2006 Album to the Gallery: click here to go directly to the album. I really wish I'd taken more pictures while I was there. Oh well. March 15, 2006 Tempus fugit, people. UPDATES! Added my "review" of Paul McCartney's Chaos and Creation in the Backyard to the Music page. I tried to keep the gushing to a minimum. Really, I did. March 8, 2006 "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make" - The Beatles, "The End" Well, um, have I seriously not updated since October 10, 2005? That's insane. Right-o then. It's a new year, a beautiful year. Welcome. :D As far as updates go, I made some slight additions to my Bio page today, and hope to add at least one more music review to the music page in the very near future. October 10, 2005 September 6, 2005And so October comes without warning, bringing Autumn along with it. Unfortunately, we suffered about a week and a half worth of downtime recently but I'm happy to say that, after some awe-inspiring magic worked by Scott the IT Wizard, we are back in business. Obviously, right, or you wouldn't be here reading this, but I digress. UPDATES:
The following quote from Boccaccio has lately become my credo: "So let the critics hold their tongues, and if they are unable to radiate any warmth, let them freeze, let them pursue the pleasures that appeal to their jaded palates, and leave me to enjoy my own in the brief life that we are given." -Giovanni Boccaccio, The Decameron September already, eh? My my. So, how did you spend your Labour Day weekend? Me? I wrote a novel. Or something like one. UPDATES: If you think that such a thing might strike your fancy, do feel free to check out Readables (under Obsessions: Literature) for a review of Tracy Chevalier's Girl with a Pearl Earring (1999). August 11, 2005 *pets her lovely little website* I really do promise to start updating this site more often. It's terrible how I've been neglecting the poor thing. Recent Addition A silly little thing I wrote for one of the assignments I had to do for teacher's college. It is entitled "The Teacher as Story-teller, Revisited" (The Fiction), and can be found under Writing: Other in the main menu. June 29, 2005 Additions In reaction to some of my recent difficulties with online communication, I've written "Rant: The Rules of Email Etiquette." This can be found under Miscellaneous in the Main Menu. It's all very tongue in cheek, I assure you. May 31, 2005 New developments Rather than implementing a complete and total moratorium on the inclusion of all of my "serious" writing projects on this website in the future, I have come to a compromise. My plan is to create a page entitled "Current Projects" on which I can post updates about all the things I've been working on lately. I'll be doing something similar in my journal as well. Just for me, because it will make me feel better about the whole situation. :) UPDATES: * Readables page is up. Only one review so far, but it's up nonetheless. * "Rant: People and Their Egos on the Internet" is a huge WIP. I think it might take me a while to finish. Etc. I hope to make a new Gods & Goddesses page some time in the near future, as well as one devoted to favourite fictional characters. The site is coming together. It's just taking some time. May 19, 2005 I have come to the realization that the reconstruction of this site is going to take significantly more work than I previously estimated it would. No matter though, as I am most definitely up to the task. Be warned, though, that the place will be in a state of disarray for at least a couple of weeks until I can get all my stories back up and all of the formatting of everything fixed. My apologies. I'm working on it. May 17, 2005 Welcome. Bienvenue. Benvenuto. Willkommen. The Great Crash of 2005 had its share of casualties, and I suppose it's pretty obvious that my beloved website did not escape unscathed. What I lost was mostly sentimental stuff like the Wedding Scrapbook, and all of the old Obsessions pages were wiped out, because I didn't have backup copies of anything but my writing and poetry on my hard drive. It was really disappointing, the whole situation. BUT! I'm here, ready to begin the reparations. Eager and excited, even. This is going to be good. |
